We Have a New Name (and I Want to Tell You Why)
Many years ago, I sat at my kitchen table creating my very first printables for a 3rd grade classroom, a simple hands-on STEM challenge with a sticky note rubric and a borrowed bin of recycled materials. I named my little shop “Live Laugh Love to Learn” because, honestly, that’s what it felt like back then. A side project. A labor of love. A “let’s see where this goes” kind of thing. Fast forward to today, and that name just doesn’t fit anymore.
How I Got Here
Over the past many years, this has grown from a hobby into something much bigger, a full library of STEM, SEL, and classroom resources used by teachers across the country, a TPT store with thousands of downloads, a blog, a community.
What started as “let’s make learning fun” has turned into something with real purpose: helping teachers build classrooms where kids grow as thinkers and as people.
Somewhere along the way, I realized the resources I was creating weren’t just about hands-on activities anymore. They were about connection. About giving kids the tools to collaborate, manage big feelings, solve problems together, and feel like they belong.
STEM became the vehicle, but heart was always the destination.
“Live Laugh Love to Learn” was a great name for where I started. But it doesn’t say any of that. It doesn’t say STEM. It doesn’t say SEL. And it definitely doesn’t say me , not the teacher, the creator, or the person I’ve become through this work.
Introducing STEM with Heart
So, it’s time for a new name, one that actually reflects what this space has become and where it’s headed.
From here on out, you’ll see this brand as STEM with Heart.
Same hands-on activities you’ve come to count on. Same SEL resources designed for real classrooms. Same me, behind the scenes, still creating things I’d want to use in my own classroom. Just a name, and a look, that finally matches the mission.
What’s Changing (and What’s Not)
Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll start to see some things shift:
- A new logo and color palette (you may have already some changes popping up!)
- A new website at stemwithheart.com
- Updated branding across TPT, social media, and email
What’s not changing: the resources you love, the way they’re made, and the heart behind why I create them. If you’ve been with me for a while, think of this as the same shop with a name that finally fits.
